Winter Indoor League (u10)

We will decide at the end of the summer season whether we are to enter a team into the indoor cricket league.  Please keep an eye on this section.


Games are played on a Thursday evening at Ruabon Secondary school.  We play in the sports hall at the back of the school.  Post code is LL14 6BT
Games last 1 hour and are 6 a side.

Rules

Wrexham Under 10  Junior Indoor Cricket League – Competition Rules.

1 Qualification of Players

Players to be Under 10 years of age on 1st September 2011.

2. Playing regulations

The laws of cricket shall apply with the following exceptions:

  1. The pitch shall be 19 yards in length.
  2. The ball used shall be an Indoor  cricket ball.
  3. Each team shall comprise of 6 players
Each innings shall be of 12 overs duration. Games must be completed within the 1 hour

  1. The batting side shall be divided into pairs and each pair shall bat for 4 overs. Pairs shall change at the end of the over. This is to ensure both batsmen have an equal amount of strike if possible.
  2. Batsmen shall have unlimited lives but every time they are out 5 runs shall be deducted from the total. No batsman who is out for any reason shall face the next ball
  3. Each player on the fielding side MUST BOWL 2 overs each UNLESS BOTH CLUBS AGREE THAT WICKETKEEPERS NEED NOT BOWL
  4. Wides and No Balls shall count as 2 runs and no extra balls shall be bowled in the over except in the final over of the game (this is to prevent teams deliberately bowling wides and no balls to win the game). ANY BALL PITCHING SHORTER THAN HALF WAY DOWN THE WICKET SHALL BE CALLED A NO BALL. 
  5. The winning team shall be the side scoring the highest number of runs after deductions of runs for the number of wickets lost.
  6. No fielder shall be allowed to field nearer than 7 yards from the middle stump. A ball hit against the side wall or the roof netting is one run, if a run is made it is 3 runs, and a ball hit against the back wall behind the bowler is 4 or 6 runs depending on whether it has bounced or not. A bye or leg bye against the wall behind the batsman is 1 run. An overthrow hitting any wall shall count as 1 extra run.
  7. Players can be caught out off the side walls but not the end walls (either end) or the roof
  8. Each team must provide an Umpire for its own matches and the Umpires decisions are final.
3. Points System

Points will be as follows 1) 2 for a win   2) 1 for a tie.

In the event of a points tie team which has taken most wickets will finish higher.

If still level team that has scored most runs will be placed higher

4. Match Results

The scoresheet should be kept by the winning side.   Both teams should  email the result including gross scores and wickets taken so net score can be worked out  to [email protected]

5. Safety

Safety must remain a principal concern for all coaches/umpires. Coaches/ Umpires should be fully aware of Rule 2 (h) above.

 Protective equipment must be  wornat all times by batsmen  and wicketkeepers standing up to the wicket SHOULD WEAR A HELMET AT ALL TIMES.

6. Discipline

Coaches/Parents responsible for the teams are asked to ensure that players respect Umpires and their opponents and any reports of unreasonable behaviour will be strictly dealt with. Players, if found guilty of such behaviour, will be banned from further participation in the league for the remainder of the season.
